This morning I took my morning coffee to the back porch and drank it there. As I sat, slightly shivering, I heard and or saw the following birds:
- Northern Cardinal
- House Wren
- Carolina Wren
- Tufted Titmouse
- Carolina Chickadee
- White-Breasted Nuthatch
- House Finch
- American Goldfinch
- Northern Flicker
- Pileated Woodpecker.
Not bad for five minutes in suburbia.
that’s terrific. i love walking in the mornings, when birds are moving. we live right by a small urban lake, and we often see cardinals and bluebirds, once an indigo bunting, lots of mallards and canada geese, sometimes eagles and wood ducks, tons of chickadees and nuthatches and robins, and the occasional downy woodpecker.
i love it.
