Found Items: Playing Now…

We’ve cleaned out the knee walls so the debris from the roof replacement won’t be so hard to clean up. Everything that was in the knee walls is now in the two attic rooms. I’d post a photo but it’s too depressing.

Between now and some near point in the future it is my job to go through dozens of boxes to see if I still want to keep the items in them.

This brochure/flyer/playbill? from one of my flights to or from England in the 1970s was not in a box, so it has priority in my not-so-defined rules.

Back in the olden days we were given head phones that plugged into the arm of the airplane seat and we had a choice of things to listen to. We also had films to watch, but if I remember correctly they were on high screens located throughout the airplane, not on the back of the seat in front of us. I don’t think I listened to much of this music, but maybe I did.

Since I have unlimited time today (that’s a joke) I sat down and made a playlist of everything I could find on Spotify for each section. Note you will need to have a Spotify account to access the playlists.

  1. Pop Rock
  2. Humour
  3. Just Jazz
  4. Children’s Hour
  5. Classical Concert
  6. Familiar Favorites
  7. Sentimental Journey

This will go in the recycling. There, one down and 999,999 to go.

This is How I Am

This was probably created in late May or early June 1963. Possibly September. I am somewhat shocked at the writing and spelling — I was at least 6 years and 9 months old. I think kids these days are more advanced — or I was behind at nearly 7. My drawing ability never improved much.

Declutter 2018: 32 Dan Bern posters

I went to see Dan Bern on Saturday. (That’s my head on the left!) Before I left I thought about the pile of Dan Bern posters ((many years ago I volunteered to put posters around town advertising Dan’s shows — I was a very bad rep since I had so many left over)) that were sitting under my office sofa. I didn’t need more than one each so I decided to take them to the show and give them away.

I placed them on the merchandise table. The table had a sign to pay what people wanted to pay for the items there, so hopefully Dan made some money on the posters.

Declutter 2018 count 50:

  • 32 Dan Bern Posters
  • 2 crystal unicorns, broken
  • 9 letters from Sue
  • 1 Loon Magic sweatshirt
  • 1 shedding scarf
  • 1 pair of fingerless gloves
  • 1 wool underlayer shirt
  • 1 birthday poster from Sue
  • 1 baby shower thank you card from Chris and George
  • 1 Christmas postcard from Auntie June and Uncle Harold
