Barely worthy of a blog post, this smaller than a small novella was free. It was a prequel to another Allen book — I don’t remember which one. I only counted it because I was desperate for books on my reading challenge list.

The Wife by Meg Wolitzer
Definitely read this because of the movie that got stellar reviews on the Washington Post — at least Glenn Close’s performance did.
Book was very good movie was okay. Glenn Close’s performance was not Academy Award worthy though, in my opinion — which is what the Post article was all about.
Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn
I may have decided to read this because of the HBO series or maybe because Amazon kept suggesting I read it because I liked Gone Girl. Whatever. I read it. It was fun and disturbing. HBO did a good job except at the end where they fucked it up and revealed the twist during the credits.
